Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Jersey Shore Public Library is a nonprofit, charitable group formed to support the Jersey Shore Public Library in achieving its mission of service to Jersey Borough, Porter Township and all surrounding municipalities.

Support from the Friends group is financial, political and cultural. Our group is separate from the library and made up of all volunteers who care about our library and our community.  Our group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. August through April.

We typically organize 2 major book sales each year and funds are used to support the Summer Quest family reading program, purchase magazines and periodicals for the collection, and anything the library needs that is over and above what is not able to be met by the library’s annual budget. Some examples of things we have provided through our volunteer work are: purchased folding tables and chairs; purchased a room divider for use in the community room; paid for carpet cleaning; had faucets and shut-off valves installed in the janitorial closet; paid for masonry work and painting; paid for updated computers and other technology tools.

Dues is $10.00 per year or $50 for a lifetime membership.
